Drum and Rhythm Workshop
Musical IQ's Drum and Rhythm Workshop takes the drum circle concept to new level. This program is fun, interactive, and high-energy. Everyone in the group is given a drum or percussion instrument to play. This program gives each participant the experience of being a part of a rhythm orchestra - in which each small contribution is vital to the making of a unique musical creation. This program has a sense of humour and is fast paced. Together, as a group, we will be creating rhythmic symphony.
Following some fun and playful rhythmic exercises, designed to establish group coherence and to promote team building, the group learn about the musical instruments and how to use them. We then begin to establish a simple layer of basic rhythm and continue layer by layer to build a unique and beautiful piece of music.
Drum Orchestra aims to channel the power of music and percussion to bring people together as a team. Using guided rhythmic activities and instruction, Musical IQ facilitators employ an engaging, interactive, and hands-on approach to promote creative expression and to hold a space for each individual contribution.
This program will emphasize the importance of unity, as well as the power of common purpose. The Drum Orchestra program encourages individual creativity within a group setting, promotes cooperation, demonstrates the value of effective communication and listening skills, illustrates the importance of diversity, relieves stress, and is a whole lot of fun!
